Learning a foreign language is one of the most important investments anyone can make in themselves or their child. At L.two, we receive enquiries every day from parents and adult learners who want to embark on this journey. We’ve compiled the most common ones, along with their answers.
At what age should my child start learning a foreign language?
The age of 4 is considered the ideal age for a child to begin learning a foreign language. At this age, learning takes place through experiential, interactive and fun activities, without any pressure, so that the child can develop a natural rapport with the language from an early age. At L.two, we offer specialised programmes for each age group, tailored to the needs and abilities of every child.
Why should I (or my child) learn a foreign language?
The benefits are numerous and substantial:
- Cognitive abilities are enhanced
- Academic performance improves
- Greater self-confidence is built
- Social circles are expanded
- Career prospects are significantly improved
- New opportunities for studying abroad are opened up
- Travelling the world becomes easier and more comfortable
How do you teach the language so that it is learnt thoroughly and not just by ‘parroting’?
At L.two, rote learning without understanding is strictly forbidden. We combine traditional teaching methods (textbooks, writing, spelling) with the use of modern technology, tailored to each pupil’s interests. We place particular emphasis on understanding the structure of the language and on learning it through experience, through activities and cultural elements specific to each country.
Which languages are taught at L.two?
We offer English, Spanish, Italian and Russian lessons for all levels, as well as Greek for non-native speakers. The programmes are tailored to the needs of each student, whether they are a child, a teenager or an adult.
Are your teachers university-educated?
Yes, all L.two teachers are university-educated, experienced and genuinely passionate about their subject.
Do you offer distance learning (online) courses?
Yes, L.two also offers online courses for those who prefer this form of teaching or are unable to attend face-to-face classes.
Is there support available for pupils with ADHD?
Yes. Our teaching staff are specially trained to provide effective support for pupils with ADHD, adapting their teaching approach accordingly.
How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?
Updates are provided regularly, as and when the need arises, as well as twice a year when the marks are issued.
